Nimo is the best destination for adventure sport river rafting. Nimu is a stop for all the river rafting groups and is the main starting point for the annuall held all India river rafting expedition, which is done in the Indus River. This route consist mostly of Grade II or III easy rapids is that it passes through astoundingly beautiful mountains, many of them with tiny hamlets and imposing old monasteries nestling among the valleys. Starting from Phey Village , about 12 Kms from Leh and ends Indus-Zanskar confluence at Nimo, about 36 kms from Leh. The temperature here varies from +40c in summer to -20C in winter. Due to such hard climate and extreme weather conditions this area has very little vegetation cover (as seen in picture on right). Some of the adventure sports in Nimo that you can enjoy.
